8-83-226. Responsibilities of governor. (1) The governor shall perform the following functions, as specified in the federal act: (a) Appoint members to the state council in accordance with section 24-46.3-101 (2), C.R.S.; (b) Establish criteria for local elected officials to use in appointing members of local work force investment boards; (c) Designate federal work force development areas in consultation with the local elected officials, including local work force investment areas requesting to be a part of the federal work force investment area comprising a consortium of work force areas; (d) Designate, modify, and terminate work force investment areas in the state, including temporary designation, and establish an appeal process for review of such decisions; (e) Certify designated work force investment boards and the local consortium work force development board; (f) Negotiate with the federal department of labor concerning the contents of the state plan; and (g) Carry out such other duties and functions as may be required under the federal act.
