23-21-202. Definitions. As used in this part 2, unless the context otherwise requires: (1) Committee means the sickle-cell anemia advisory committee. (2) Sickle-cell anemia means an inherited blood disease caused by abnormal hemoglobin (oxygen-carrying pigment) in the red blood cells, causing the red blood cells to form a crescent or sickle shape when deprived of sufficient oxygen.
