1-47-302. Submission of election data by political subdivisions. [Editor's note: For the applicability of this section on or after January 1, 2026, see the editor's note following the article 47 heading.] (1) After the certification of an election of any political subdivision, the entity responsible for administering the election shall submit to the secretary of state the following information in an accessible and appropriate format as determined by the secretary of state: (a) Election results, specified at the precinct level if available; and (b) Election district and precinct boundaries, if available. (2) The entity responsible for administering the election is not required to submit information described in subsection (1) of this section if the secretary of state is already in possession of the information. (3) The secretary of state shall make the information described in subsection (1) of this section available on the secretary of state's website in an accessible and appropriate electronic format. (4) The secretary of state shall provide adequate technological security measures to prevent unauthorized access to voter-related records and shall establish adequate and reasonable technological security requirements for the exchange or transfer of data.
